This starts our journey to building our dream home on Guam.
We have been planning this for years. Planning means looking at different magazines, observing and "ooh-ing" and "aah-ing" over beautiful houses that we've visited during open houses. We've also been talking to friends, co-workers and other professionals about their own experiences on building their homes.
And so our journey begins.
The past months, we have been to the banks. We've been talking to them and they have been advising us what to do to start our journey. Finally, we were able to find the credit union that has a very efficient and reliable mortgage officer. We've got our finances in order - which means - tightening our belt for the next few months or the next few years. Traveling will be up to minimum and shopping will be out of the question. We will just stick to our basic needs.
In the past months, we have also started talking to different contractors. We have visited their work, talk to their employees and clients and it was done to determine who will build our dream home. We have earnestly prayed for wisdom to choose the right one. We have also included an engineer on board to make sure that our specific request are included in the plans. They are both great gentlemen!
We will be working with them closely for the next few months on our journey.
Today, we have received the final plans. They are to be turned in to our bank POC and the appraisal has been ordered. We now begin with the appraisal then more with the bank.
